Balfour Beatty Pension Fund (PO-18281)
Ombudsman’s Determination
Outcome
I do not uphold Mr S’ complaint and no further action is required by the Trustee.
My reasons for reaching this decision is explained in more detail below.
Complaint summary
Mr S disagrees with the Trustee’s decision that his benefits should be payable, unreduced, from age 60 in respect of his service in the executive section of the BBPF Birse Section but from age 65 with regard to his service in the BBPF Birse Section. He is claiming that information he received from the BBPF, since he joined the executive section in 1994, indicated that his normal retirement age (NRA) for all of his scheme membership was at age 60.
