Four new NEDs appointed at TPO

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has appointed four new Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) to The Pensions Ombudsman (TPO) with effect from 1 May 2021:

  • Emir Feisal
  • Myfanwy Barrett
  • Mark Ardron
  • Robert Branagh

Caroline Rookes, Chair of TPO said:

“I am delighted to welcome Emir, Myfanwy, Mark and Robert to TPO’s Corporate Board. DWP’s appointment of the Non-Executive Directors, along with my permanent appointment as Chair in November 2020, means that TPO now has a full Corporate Board as recommended in its Tailored Review 2019.

I am looking forward to working with the NEDs to continue to strengthen TPO’s governance and provide a strategic steer in uncertain times as we await the full impact of the Covid-19 pandemic to evolve.”

Anthony Arter, Pensions Ombudsman added:

“I would like to congratulate Emir, Myfanwy, Mark and Robert on their appointment. They bring with them a wealth of experience which will prove invaluable in helping TPO to realise its strategic goals.”

In 2025, international law firm Slaughter and May decided to partner with The Pensions Ombudsman (TPO) to support its volunteer programme. Today we are interviewing Patricia Critchley who is Senior Counsel at Slaughter and May and a pro bono volunteer for TPO.
