Outcome

I do not uphold Mr R’s complaint and no further action is required by the Trustee. 

Complaint summary

Mr R has complained that he was prevented from taking benefits as a lump sum before major changes were made to the Scheme during 2017 and 2018. As a result, his lump sum was substantially lower than it would have been. He has also complained that he can only continue to receive the remainder of his benefits as an income, rather than one or more lump sums, as he had expected and planned for.
